ZoomInfo AI features: Copilot, Workspace, and GTM.AI

ZoomInfo's AI now spans three layers: Copilot for sellers, Copilot Workspace for agent execution, and GTM.AI for grounding outside agents in verified data. Here's what each does and how to evaluate the automation.

What ZoomInfo's AI actually is

ZoomInfo's AI is built on top of its B2B data, not bolted on beside it. The seller-facing core is ZoomInfo Copilot, an AI sales assistant that applies AI to that data to help reps find prospects, prioritize accounts, and act on real-time buying signals — things like leadership changes, funding rounds, and spikes in buyer interest.

Around that core sit two newer layers. Copilot Workspace, launched October 6, 2025, is an AI-agent execution layer. And GTM.AI, generally available June 1, 2026, is a "headless GTM context layer" that exposes ZoomInfo's verified intelligence to AI agents built elsewhere. The product line is active and expanding — not renamed or retired — so when you evaluate it, you're really evaluating three things that fit together.

What Copilot does for a seller

Copilot's job is to turn raw account data into something a rep can act on without doing the digging by hand. A few features carry most of that weight:

  • Buying Groups identifies multiple decision-makers inside a target organization, analyzing data points such as CRM data, corporate websites, case studies, and earnings call summaries to map the buying committee.
  • Account Summaries automate account research, delivering a consolidated brief of key contacts, decision-makers, and a company's pain points or business challenges.
  • The Copilot AI Emailer drafts personalized outreach by pulling from historical engagement, CRM data, and account insights, and can adjust tone and length and schedule follow-ups.

Crucially, Copilot pushes an account's key buying signals to sellers inside their CRM — for example Salesforce and HubSpot — and delivers real-time alerts via Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email. The intent is to meet reps where they already work rather than forcing them into another tab.

From assistant to agent: Workspace and GTM.AI

Copilot Workspace moves from suggesting to doing. It's an AI-agent execution layer where agents research accounts, generate follow-ups, monitor signals, draft outreach, update CRM fields, and surface next-best actions from one unified workspace. It consolidates insights and signals from disparate GTM systems — CRM such as Salesforce, sales engagement platforms, and other GTM tools — into a single account view.

GTM.AI points outward. It's the API and Model Context Protocol (MCP) home that exposes ZoomInfo's verified intelligence natively to external AI agents, built on a GTM Context Graph that resolves roughly 100 million companies, 500 million contacts, billions of buying signals, and identity-resolved IP-to-organization pairings into one connected graph. Through it, agents in tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Salesforce Agentforce, HubSpot Breeze, IBM watsonx Orchestrate, Gong, and Glean can build account lists, enrich verified contacts, map buying committees, and prospect against verified data via API/MCP — without rebuilding pipelines or scraping. GTM.AI complements Copilot rather than replacing it.

How to judge automation that acts on your accounts

Once an AI updates CRM fields, drafts outreach, and triggers next-best actions on its own, the question stops being "is it smart?" and becomes "can I see and undo what it did?" Our lens for any tool like this is bounded autonomy: the AI should reason and act, but only inside guardrails you set, with every action visible and reversible. The enemy is the black box that acts and can't explain or undo it.

A practical way to test that is Trigger, Action, Impact. For each thing Copilot or a Workspace agent does, ask: what Trigger fired it (a funding round, a signal spike)? What Action did it take (drafted an email, wrote a CRM field)? And what was the Impact — can you trace it, attribute it, and reverse it? With agents writing to your CRM and reaching out under your name, also weigh guardrail-driven automation: which actions auto-execute versus wait for a human, and how scoped the access is. None of this says ZoomInfo is a black box — it says you should confirm where the controls live before you turn agents loose.
