Gong AI features: conversation intelligence for revenue teams

Gong packages its AI as the Revenue AI Operating System: a portfolio of named agents plus a conversational assistant, all grounded in captured revenue conversations. Here's what each piece does and how to evaluate it before you commit.

What Gong's AI is today

Gong now brands its AI as the Gong Revenue AI Operating System (Revenue AI OS). Rather than a single "AI feature," it's a portfolio of discrete, named Gong Agents plus a conversational interface called Gong Assistant. The whole system is grounded in the Gong Revenue Graph — a connected network of captured revenue interactions that gives the agents and the assistant their context.

The foundation is conversation intelligence. Gong automatically captures, transcribes, and analyzes business conversations across calls, meetings, and emails, turning them into structured data. The AI Transcriber agent handles the conversion from raw customer conversations into transcripts and insights, which everything else builds on.

The conversation intelligence agents

On top of transcription, several agents read the conversation stream for different signals. The AI Tracker agent follows revenue-critical signals across conversations — detecting key concepts such as how reps talk about pricing, objections, and product feedback, even when phrased in unexpected ways. The AI Theme Spotter agent surfaces recurring themes like pain points, feature requests, and objections across customer segments.

Gong also generates call summaries and suggested next steps, and the AI Composer agent drafts personalized follow-up emails. The AI Data Extractor agent can automatically populate CRM fields from captured conversations — a common point where AI moves from reading to writing into your systems of record.

The big naming change to know: the original single-question feature AI Ask Anything is evolving into Gong Assistant, a conversational chat interface. Gong Assistant became available on call pages in March 2026 and, unlike AI Ask Anything, can reference other calls with the same participants plus account and deal information.

Deal and forecasting AI

Gong runs its deal and forecasting intelligence as separate, purpose-built agents. The AI Deal Predictor assigns a likelihood score projecting whether a deal will close, so reps can prioritize. The AI Deal Reviewer evaluates deals against a configured sales methodology to support pipeline qualification, and the AI Deal Monitor alerts teams to hidden risks — deals that have gone silent or show signs of stalling.

On forecasting, the AI Revenue Predictor agent forecasts revenue based on real customer conversations and pipeline signals, while Gong Forecast delivers forecasting insights and organization-wide analytics. For coaching and enablement, the AI Trainer turns past conversations into realistic role-play scenarios and the AI Call Reviewer evaluates rep performance on calls — both part of the separately packaged Gong Enable product introduced in the February 2026 "Mission Andromeda" release.

Evaluating Gong through a bounded-autonomy lens

This is our lens, not a verdict on Gong: when AI agents read your conversations and act on your CRM, the question that matters for a buyer is how visible and reversible each action is. We frame any agent action as Trigger, Action, Impact — what set it off, what it did, and what changed downstream. Apply that frame to each Gong agent before you turn it on.

Some agents are read-and-surface: AI Tracker, AI Theme Spotter, and AI Deal Monitor mostly observe and alert, which is low-risk to trial. Others write — AI Composer drafts outbound emails and AI Data Extractor populates CRM fields. For those, ask where the human reviews before anything reaches a customer or your system of record, and confirm you can configure that gate. That's the heart of guardrail-driven automation: the agent reasons and acts only inside limits you set, and you can audit and undo what it does.

  • Read-only first: start agents in surfacing mode and watch what they flag before letting any of them write.
  • Scoring transparency: with AI Deal Predictor and AI Revenue Predictor, ask which conversation and pipeline signals move a score, so a number on a deal isn't a black box.
  • Write-path review: for AI Composer and AI Data Extractor, confirm the human-in-the-loop step and that field changes are logged and reversible.
